Shaft Assemblies
Custom manufacturing, complete machining and assembled shaft units up to 8 metres — made to your drawing.
Vishal Engi-Chem, India, manufactures and supplies industrial shafts, precision machined shafts and complete shaft assemblies for power transmission, material handling and process machinery. We manufacture shafts as per customer drawings, covering individual replacement components and assembled units with wheels, sprockets, rollers and bearing housings. Our manufacturing capacity includes shaft assemblies up to 8 metres in length, subject to component diameter, weight, configuration and machining requirements.
From drawing review and material selection to machining, fabrication, welding and assembly, we focus on the details that affect fitment and performance: bearing seating, shaft alignment, mating dimensions and assembly accuracy.

Complete shaft machining facilities
Our shaft machining services cover turning, step turning, facing, taper turning, boring, drilling, threading, keyway slot machining, grooving and finishing of bearing journals and mounting surfaces. We manufacture stepped shafts, tapered shafts, hollow shafts, solid shafts, drive shafts and custom transmission shafts to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Machining is carried out to suit the fitment of bearings, couplings, gears, sprockets, wheels and rollers. Particular attention is given to journal diameters, shoulder positions, keyway dimensions, concentricity and surface finish, according to drawing requirements. Material options can include mild steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel and forged steel, depending on loading, wear, corrosion exposure and operating conditions.

Custom shaft assemblies as per drawings
We supply a range of machined and assembled industrial shaft components, including:
- Shaft with wheel assembly: wheel-mounted shafts for industrial movement, material handling and machinery applications.
- Shaft with sprocket assembly: conveyor drive shafts, head shafts and tail shafts supplied with sprockets in assembled condition.
- Shaft with bearing housings: assemblies incorporating bearings, bearing blocks or plummer block housings to suit the specified arrangement.
- Shaft with rollers: conveyor roller shafts, process roller assemblies, support rollers and driven roller units.
- Cladded rollers: roller bodies with specified metallic cladding or weld overlay for service conditions requiring wear or corrosion resistance.
- Drawing-based shaft assemblies: custom components manufactured to approved drawings for new machinery, plant maintenance and equipment replacement.
Fabrication, welding & roller cladding
Our fabrication and welding capabilities support the manufacture of roller bodies, drums, hubs, end plates, mounting supports and associated assembly components. Work may include plate preparation, fit-up, welding and subsequent machining to achieve the required finished dimensions.
For cladded rollers and weld-overlay rollers, the cladding material and welding procedure are selected to suit the base material and intended service. Where specified, hardfacing can provide a wear-resistant working surface. Final machining brings roller surfaces, journals and mating areas to drawing requirements, with attention to alignment and weld distortion.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can you supply the assembly with bearings and housings mounted?+−
Yes. We can supply the complete unit with plummer-block or flanged bearing units, housings and seals mounted and set, or prepared to receive customer-specified bearings.
Can you rebuild a shaft assembly from a worn sample?+−
Yes. We develop replacements from an existing sample and verified site dimensions — matching bearing centres, journals, bore, keyway and drum/pulley/sprocket data so the unit fits the existing bearings and structure.
